Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Failed Corporate Communication

There has been zero communication from leadership as to the future other than high level "rah rah" speeches. Nothing that allows an individual to make an intelligent decision based on their specific situation (i.e. what does the org chart look like down to the rank and file). I have been through this too many times where execs are singing the company song before, during and after a RIF.

Everyone gets on board to sing the V Team song until some realize that it really didn't mean them because they were no longer welcome on the team. Unclick and risk 1/2 year worth of pay and hope for the best?....nope. Time to cash out and move forward. If the stock does well, I will smile and clap, knowing that I am still a shareholder.

I could not agree more. I have been through many of the past organization changes and they were handle better. On a all managers call a few weeks ago our senior vp said spans of controls would not increase. How can they not if they accept any "volunteers". When asked recently how many volunteer and what the plan was they could not give a answer. So this must be their vision of agile. Good luck to all.

I would have clicked to cash out if my numbers were better.

Also, to the 4 people who wear full suits to work everyday, you look like clowns. Unless you have interview or are a visiting vendor, stop. Saw a poster with some random id--t wearing a full suit...maybe we can play pin the tail on the donkey with that poster during our office holiday lunch or whatever they're calling it these days.
