Hearing many people have been asked to unclick. Are they more concerned about the headcount than the employees? Could it be?

@ 1yew and if you get rebadged in a year you won't have the option to decline and take a package instead. We (rebadged) got lucky this time only because of the VSP. The executives screwed this up by announcing both at the same time. They won't make that mistake again.
I was asked to Unclick but they gave me no guarantees if I Unclick. The only Guarantee is the 60 week Package. Is the unknown worth the risk? Especially if there is possibly of getting rebadged to InfoSys in a year?
All kinds of (select) people being called and the leaders are working to convince folks to stay. Promising them opportunities that might or could exist. Discussing all the roles they are going to backfill. So many openings!!! It almost sounds like there will be a larger workforce with all these new jobs (sarcasm). The leaders are scrambling. I think they prioritized calling folks they saw as talented and easy prey. The business is trying to get all kinds of March and June release dates because the opt in was so high. Good luck to everyone whatever your decision.
@zrk- i'd wait for the official word either way. This isn't up to the directors based on what others have said already. It's not bad news by any stretch. Consider what you'd likely be doing had this offer never been presented.
@zrk - That was a known possibility. Look at it this way, you have until March to have another job lined up. This gives plenty of time to research companies and apply. You still get your package and you get paid + health care while job searching.
once you unclick, you never go back
I was "encouraged" to un-click last week, but declined. Although 12/10 is the official notification date, some of us are getting the bad news already. Our Director has already informed a peer of mine that she would be held until June and I was informed I will be held until March. Ruined our day for sure. Sounds like they are either rethinking the short term strategy here, or did not predict so many clickers.
I was just approached. They talked about new and exciting things, growth opportunity, but nothing tangible. I think they purposefully waited until the end of the day.

If you have been asked to unclick... don't. You already made your decision. If you are seriously considering it then hit them with a counteroffer : they can pay you the sfull everance and then retain you at 150% of your current pay. If they really need and want you then they will agree. If not, they are just looking to take advantage of you even more. Whatever you do, do not confuse this with any loyalty they might have to you, because they have already demonstrated that they have none.
Of course they want the good employees to stay, its not like they could have offered this only to the bad employees. The good employees know they will have other options if they quit so they took it up and thats who they are suggesting to stay. Could also just be your superiors liked you and want you to stay. If you haven't been asked or told your value, then you weren't needed or they don't want you anymore.
