I'm curious what department you're in, or what type of position you hold. I don't think anyone in wireline was asked to unclick that does call center work. IE talk and work with other LEC's to repair circuits. Thoughts?

Dvk very well said. I also feel the same way. To all those who are staying best of luck. To anyone still deciding if to unclick follow your gut and dreams. The next few weeks and months will be both exciting and challenging for all. Does not matter if you stay or leave. Life is too short and as a cancer survivor I learned you need to do what is best for you and your love ones first and then enjoy life first. Whatever job/career /retirement path you decide needs to support those goals and not be the center of your world
Asking people to unclick seems like a slippery slope with respect to legal exposure as it opens the door to claims of discrimination. For example, if it turns out that in some particular office/team all those asked to "unclick" are under 40 years old and all those not asked are over 40. That's a completely different fact pattern than if they can demonstrate that every person, company wide, not accepted for the offer was based on "business needs" and not some other illegal criteria such as age, race, national origin, ... Sounds to me like some management freaking out and violating HR policy to try and save the ship (After all , the VSP FAQs says there is to be no pressure applied to accept or not..)
Conversely, was anyone asked to click ;-)
I'm in IT wireless and my Executive Director called and asked me to reconsider. I think they got more that clicked then they anticipated. Im still moving on. 72 hours a week, lack of sleep and multiple all nighters because we are already short staffed. Life is too short. Other opportunities await.
I am leaving with way over 30 years and I admit it..... I am very sad. Verizon gave my a good life, raised a family put kids thru school, enjoyed my little slice of heaven. Was VZ always good No ! Took pension away, decreased medical and lost the family and loyalty atmosphere like America it became more ruthless but I adapted and did not let it harden my heart . Losing more value in pension has forced me to leave not by choice but out of necessity. I was a very lucky guy hope I am half as lucky in my next job.
Xhx? What you mean
I hope they aren’t keeping records of who they are asking.
@soq, what if the wild horses were carrying?
Three of us in IT were asked. Manager didn’t seem to want to asked - More like she was required to ask.
I agree with you I work in Call center and me or any of my peers were asked to stay. Our office out performs most also so it can’t be because of performance. Doesn’t matter to me either way.. wild horses couldn’t make me unclick haha
