I've been working vz retail for 14 years. Monday is my last day, I'm quitting. This job is causing me unnecessary stress and I refuse to miss anymore holidays with my family. YOUNGER FOLKS WHO READ THIS SITE-SAVE YOUR MONEY! Use this job as a step ahead, take advantage of tuition assistance, personal and sick time! Stores are chaotic and lack actual management. I'm a little apprehensive but I can't anymore. I'm going to take the rest of the year off, spend it with my family and job search in January. Best of luck to everyone!

Just like others are saying my doctor gets a lot of people from Verizon, and also spoke to a labor lawyer randomly one day that says Verizon is one of the worst he ever sees.
IMHO, here’s the pecking order.

OP here, thanks for all of your responses. My doctor put me on blood pressure medicine last month. I actually called sedgwick and they said stress is not approved but mental health would be (I don't have anxiety, but I'm assuming my BP is high duet underlying stress). I've never used disability before and felt defeated when they said stress would ultimately be denied.

OP, to be honest, IMHO, the new TAP CAP is C-ap, if you were in my situation, and doesn’t come close to covering expenses.
I work closely with the attendance team... people do this all the time. Go to the doctor tell them u can’t sleep, and your very stressed out and you know it’s from your job. Tell them your anxiety is not there on weekends but on Monday mornings it worse.
Trust me the doctor will fill out Fmla paper that will protect you from being disciplined for attendance and better yet you will move into short term disability and with 14 years of service you will get full pay for atleast 6mo then it will go to half pay for another 6mo. It all depends on how long your doc takes you out for. Some docs will only do paperwork for 30 to 45 days at a time. You Will just have to keep going back to get it extended. Trust me it is the Norm in my line of business

Go to a doctor on Monday. Call out sick. Go out on disability. You are obviously under lots of stress. I've seen multiple people in Verizon do this over the years.
Yes do go out on disability, I wish I had done this but I didn't and worked myself into a mess. I'm not there anymore and if I was there I would definitely take the package. Hans came in to clean up, not to care for anyone.. it's very shameful what they have caused to good hard working loyal employees. DON'T QUIT..go to Doctors and go out on disability.
Don’t quit you would be better off going out on disability. Most doctors will take you out for stress. This way you will get paid thru the holiday or for as long as your doc will sign paperwork.
Doctors know how stressful Verizon is. You can ride short term disability for 364 days. 14 years is to much to just throw away.

Yep I am with you 38 here and have lost years of sleepless nights due to stress. Have had the big c which likely came from the stress. I have and gave and have so many years of no sick days ,perfect attendance for nothing. But It has afforded me the ability to raise a family, put kids through pvt school but several houses. I hate the highcost of medical but I have seen a lot of changes and dodged a lot of Rifs. Not sure I want to play the game any longer. Good luck you you all.
