How was everyone's Member Event last night?

LOL...Sears still using the "Member" marketing terminology.

It's like whenever I hear "guest" it must be a Target person speaking it. Like a company labeling a customer a special fancy term is suddenly going to draw instant sales. Come on.

They are what they have been since time began: either customers, window shoppers or shoplifters.

Only time "member" should be utilized is in a warehouse/wholesale club situation, when the customer has to pay for a membership to access it. Like Costco or Sam's Club.

@ikj And people wonder why Sears is going to liquidate after the first of the year. The Member Event was the start of Black Friday Week. Their have been company wide emails sent to Managers and ASM's as well as having it discussed on conference calls so don't let your manager say they knew nothing about it. I'm an ASM and I can personally vouch for all the above.

We didn't even know there was an event until one of our customers asked about it on Sunday afternoon. My manager went through the emails and his notes from the past few conference calls and he found nothing about it. So to answer your question--- it was a bust.

Our store is closed on Sundays due to the county’s Blue Law. We never have an event and other stores around us never really see a jump.

I barely found out of the event yesterday. No communication from anyone.

@vrg You also got business because there was a nationally published article in depth about Kmart and the event. The article hardly mentioned Sears. Interesting turn of events as far as to which stores got the most publicity and attention and I'm a Sears employee.

We're a declining Class B mall that still has an Apple store and a Barnes and Nobles so a bunch of stores were running pre Black Friday sales. Didn't bring in much traffic. I think they all went to Target.
