Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Nay Sayers

For those of you who are head strong that dsd is here to stay....

How’s that working out for you having to work Tates now? Oh wait, we’re not.

Have you noticed how many box trucks that delivery to smaller accounts are rented? Penske. Company no longer purchasing box trucks, only straight trailers. Hummmm, are we not going to deliver to target anymore?

Haha! DSD is dead!!! Watch!

Notice is only required by law if a certain number of employees are effected. Closing down one branch, in one part of the country, probably would not qualify for notices. Some companies get away from having to give required notice by letting employees go in waves. Keebler let all (or most) reps and merchandisers go at one time. They had to give notice of 60 days.

When we are let go they are also required by law to share specific information in regards to who was let go. Ages, reason for termination (can’t let one person go for performance and another for tenure). Lots of information by law they are required to share. Hold them accountable.

Check your fact about notice required by law, it’s in writing. 60 days. Keebler told employees way ahead of time and it only didn’t bite them in the rear mire was because they offered big retaining bonuses, money and car to hit numbers. Mondelez will never follow suit! Unethical is exactly right! It’s just amazing they have not been smacked with class action law suits with they way they practice business. They ought to watch their p’s and q’s cause it will likely happen before too long!

They have to? Doubt it. Maybe they'll give the same notice as they did when they shut down our warehouse. None.

Yep! They'll have to give us as much notice as Keebler got! They were told in February 2017 and let go by August 2017. They received about 5 to 6 months notice. We'll be here at least till 2020 at the earliest. Keep guessing while I keep making 💸 and taking them to the 🏦

Cash cow? Hahahahaha, you are more like a🐵! All so called money is relative! If you think your rich, well than good for you! Since every position has a salary cap, I guess we just have differing views! As far as leaving dsd, get your riches while you can, you won’t be around with Mondelez much longer! When we go warehouse maybe you can get your fortune by throwing cookies and crackers at WalMart? Buy yourself yacht! Hahahahaha

I'm sorry your DM is lying too you. It's just a down right tragedy the way Nabisco is going about this. Kelloggs let their employees know almost 6 months before they were let go. Nabisco is and won't be so nice. Better find something else. Theirs no future at Nabisco

Your boss is reading a script, “WE are committed to dsd”. WE are not ending DSD, retailers are. WE have been planning an exit from DSD for years, it would not occur overnight.

Ask your “honest” boss if Kroger is rolling out CAO in 2019 and see his reaction. This is indeed a fact. Retailers are pulling the plug on CAO. When it happens your boss can say,”WE were committed, retailers were not” and remain honest sounding. He knows more than he’s eluding to and your just naive enough, and unwilling to want to know the truth, to believe him. Think again!! You will be losing your job soon!

Good lord! You DM is committed to his job, that’s all! Wrong! Kroger is CAO, we are testing it now, they had it in one division and now rolled out to cincy Dayton. Will go live in all Kroger in 2019. Wake up and smell the coffee!!!

How about from the DC’s to the retailers warehouse and secondary suppliers? That won’t be third party. The DC’s will be a staging area for product to be placed and from there it will go to warehouses. SuperValu and other third party suppliers will receive product from DC’s as well. Product won’t go from the factories to the retailers warehouses. There will be a lot more PRD’s to support in store promotions. Thus the need for more space at the DC’s.

They would get from the factories to the Dc's the same way they do today. 3rd party carriers.

Our product still needs to get to the DC from factories. If we were not leaving dsd they would still have box trucks, now we rent them!

Post ID: @8ize+WeCrq6r

Why would we be investing in any trucks if we are going warehouse? 3rd party carriers deliver from the RDC's to the customer warehouses.

We are leaving dsd! We will delivery to retailers warehouses and the will deliver to individual stores. That’s why we are only investing in straight trucks and leasing box trucks. Make sense? It’s noy my scenario, it’s how warehouse works.

Would the driver's still be delivering to the actual grocery stores or the store's warehouses in your scerino?

Up to you to choose your friends, not me! Just stating some facts. That’s why drivers singed a new contract, drivers will still be needed, just less of them. Distribution centers, or DC’s as they are called, will be staging areas for product to be shoppped from factories. WC was never designed for DSD, things just didn’t pan out as far as us being acquired. We had hoped to jump to warehouse before retailers pulled the plug, but that isn’t the case anymore.

DSD will end soon now with both Kroger and WM CAO. Leased cars reps are getting are just that, leased. Still be a handful of reps around to put out fires during the transition. Talk about micro managing, no thanks! Good luck people! Stay one step ahead!

For anyone who currently pulls from WC, they know this move is not in support of dsd or any type of investment in dsd!! WC is a disaster and has been! This will be a Distrbution center. Kroger just built a warehouse in Hebron KY, just down 75. Since we will pay slotting fees at retailers warehouses they will utilize DC to house inventory. Any other interpretation is managements attempt at a smoke screen. Sorry pal, you are being played by your friend. Won’t be too much longer now!

Why would we need staging warehouses? Just ship direct from the RDCs to the customers warehouse. Thats what we did in Canada when DSD closed.

by

Post ID: @8egr+WeCrq6r

Probably a few new warehouses for staging products to grocery warehouses. Our warehouses won't close when we exit DSD. They'll still need a staging area. That's all it probably is. WC bought the building next too them. They're getting ready for the transition

I just love these people. I dont claim to have all the answers nor do I claim to know the truth. I was told a few new DSD warehouses were being built ( Leased) which would show at least a 3 to 5 year committment.

The person you trust must have been given the wrong information. All signs point to a DSD exit very soon! Grocery industry is changing rapidly. DSD is a dinosaur! Store's want the revenue back in their pockets. We've been in our exit strategy for 5 years now. DSD will soon be ending for us.

Funny, cause I too have spoken to people very close to the dsd business and they say we’re done! Dsd ending. Since all I see are investments made that would show an end to dsd, I’d be curious if you can share what investments your source is referring to? Consolidating branches, CAO, eliminating deployment specialists, focus on only replacing straight trucks and phasing out box trucks, etc all to me point to dsd exit. Am I missing something?
