In the buyout offer, it states if you did not accept, and were later laid off, "GENERALLY " the package is 2 weeks per year...GENERALLY....it will be changed to much less
VP confirms Hans sends this proposal to board to review. major rif is coming to call centers and stores post June, Hans just like to save more but these people are making very little. call me troll too!
HR said it would go back to the "normal" severance package. That's what is the "normal" package now. Not to say they won't change what the "normal" package is.
My gut feeling is the package will be drastically reduced - I don't think there will be a RIF before June. I think the next will be Q3 2019. When there's a "normal" package, what ever normal is at that time.
They referenced the 2 weeks/35 weeks package on the daily VSP calls over and over. Many people made their decision to stay based on these remarks since they gave away virtually no other info.
A good lawyer might be able to do something with that?
Verizon does what IBM does and IBM cut their severance to.........30 days
Two year's end of the year RIF they required people to actually work their 30 day notification period. This was in IT of all places. In the past people would just be relieved of all duties and go riding off into the sunset for their 30 days, but last time was different.
I can believe the 30 days severance... but definitely not the 90 days notice. Why would a company give you 90 days to F something up lol. I've seen them give A day.. like ok. thank you.. see yourself to the security desk please.. or we can help lol. but then they give those folks an opportunity to apply within..
This is basically saying EVERYBODY would get approx. 4 months of severance if they are involved in a RIF. Once you're notified, management won't want you doing anything. Not in my area anyway.
I heard the same from 3rd level, 30 days is the new severance amount
Obviously I will, blindly, believe this because you stated you are not trolling.
What a waste of time to post this kind of nonsense
I heard similar back in 2003. I will say 90 days seems absurd for notification but kinda means everyone gets 12 weeks no matter the years to start.
It is too late now to change anything you are in or you are out of the VSP. If and when it happens it’ll just be nothing really changes except payout for to a still much higher level than many other companies.
ggf, what lawsuit? The company simply makes a policy change that states as of a specific date the severance policy is changed and publishes it before the effective date. I don't know that they will change it, but there is no guarantee of a severance package by law. It is totally under the control of the company as to whether they want to provide one or not.
Not happening in 2019. They stated this over and over.
Dumbest post on this board.
Absolutely correct post, 2019.

Trolling, Trolling, over...
They are not going to cut it.
(the 2 weeks of course, 25 week limit).
Lawsuits will come.
I have heard this rumor for 6 years now.
