Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Docket 862 lists all the “go forward” stores

There are 505 stores in the list.

I find it odd that on page 43 the list starts over again..it’s in alphabetical order

What’s up with that!

The Company is concurrently considering BOTH going concern and liquidation buds at this time pursuant to this process letter

Strange list

Look at where Sears plans not to be. No Sears in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Dallas, or San Diego. The only cities with 1M+ people in the Go Forward Sears plan are San Antonio and San Jose. Many of those stores were more profitable than what's left. The takeaway is that the second that ESL or Seritage find a use for those stores can be more profitable than Sears, it's liquidation time. Ch 11 is a godsend for him, because he really wants to get rid of the leases he can't sell, the employees and businesses he doesn't want, and and the pensions he doesn't want to pay. He tried to pay out zero severance if he could've gotten away with it, but faced a revolt, and he needs some peons to do the dirty work.

@igbc Because all remaining stores are up for bid. If a store is not bid on, and there will be some, they will close immediately. I know for a fact that 2 of the original "safe" stores will be closing by March because the mall owners are developing the properties so they will not be bid on.

Go to prime clerks website and review docket 862 and towards the very end where the list of stores are in alphabetical order by State, towards the end once you get to page 43 after #381 at 382 it does start over in alphabetical order by state

Novi mi and Westland mi were part of the 130 ring fenced properties to be sold and funds go to PBGC towards the pensions

Why was 144 stores added to the original 400 "go forward" stores

@qio my store is a REMIC property too also promised to the pension fund not seritage and it's

At the bottom of the list where the list starts over for some reason.. Is your store in that part of the list also?

Novi Michigan store was also promised to the pension fund and its in that area of the list also

Wonder how many of the original 130 ring fenced properties that when sold funds go to the PBGC for the pension

Can someone please explain the lists? Someone said it does not start over and the ones from the top to the bottom are different?

@nap. I would guess the second part of the list would be Seritage.

Everything that isn't already liquidating is on this list. Mine was a REMIC store (promised to the pension fund), not Seritage, and it is on this list. IDK about the rest.

It doesn't start over. The stores on the bottom of the list are different from the stores on the top.
