I was lucky to ‘survive’ the recent layoffs. But the entire SYW team at HE got let go. There must have been 300 of us but no more. There are a handful of us now to keep the lights on. It’s clear SYW is dead, so much for the endless platitudes SYW would ‘turn the company around’ what bull. At HE everyone is looking to get out, SYW, what a waste!

These are all new bonuses that were granted in the last week. They company also filed to eliminate bonus packages and severance packages of fired execs, because bankruptcy allows you to do that.
The execs gets huge bonuses because it's written into their contracts and Sears would get sued if not paying it out despite how wrong it is.

I work in a call center that handles SYW inquiries. We were told this week our center is closing in stages. Shop Your Way will be closed down after the holidays or outsourced into something else. Our manager did not know. I suspect our staged layoff is to avoid a WARN Act trigger, which means they have to pay us an extra 90 days. We are getting 1 week severance for each year of service for SYWR, which means little because our call center only started handling these calls in 2016.
I've been playing the Xtra wheelspinning thing and usually ended up with a buck or two ( I have insomnia ok?). Lately its been like 15 to 25 cents. I don't get any free cash offers or cash back anymore. It's really dried up so I don't bother now.
It was a complete scam from the start. When I pointed out the flawed logic to upper management I was quickly silenced....repeatedly. It's all part of Eddies' elaborate con job.

Former associate here. Logged into my long-forgotten SYWR account and had no surprise points ("freecash") and only had a few lame coupons for Kmart grocery items. It looked like games were added to Sweeps recently but you can't play any of them because there is no button to click to play the game. Oh well, Sweeps was just a huge waste of time anyway, it never paid more than a few laughable cents. I was planning on doing some shopping at Sears if they simply made some decent coupons or freecash available to me but I think I'll skip them this year because Walmart and Amazon has just about everything I want on my list for less.
With Amazon and Walmart, I will pay less and I don't have to deal with any rewards gimmicks, especially with that "spend $600, get $600 (*at select stores)" that they are promoting...sounds like that would be a real gimmick because which stores are eligible and are they really going to stay true to their word?
If that is what they are using to get people in the door, they better do right by their word because they will royally piss off the few customers that will shop with them this year. Word on shady business practices will spread faster than a wildfire. Sears cannot afford a PR nightmare is all I have to say! They need to look as good as possible to the public in order to survive. All it takes is an evening news report on TV, a news article or thousands of complaints on Twitter about customers being swindled and that's it, the bankruptcy court would be wise just to go right in to Chapter 7.

Yes while the associates at the store have to try and get food stamps while Lenna is making over a million dollars a year oh and don't forget the bonus I would have done anything for this company and now all I feel is hate.I don't know how they can sleep at night .
I tried calling and no one picked up and said that SYW is temporary off. Is it true?
That $25m of executive bonus money had to come from somewhere!
