It’s not so strange to see over a dozen previous senior Cisco ANZ sales people now at AWS.
Let the exodus Rock on !

ANZ?
Cisco is not going to make a transition to software based subscription revenues. It’s going to stay a box vendor.
It’s not a phenomenon limited to ANZ, or AWS. For example, I was in a meeting with MSFT a few weeks back, virtually that entire MSFT team is ex-CSCO. Similarly, a lot of former colleagues are now at Google.
Just few weeks out of cisco
Getting better sleep
Learnt more than i did in preceding 2 years
Losing bad weight 2 kg
Heart rate down from 75 to 61 due to less stress
Exercising daily
No back stabbing team
No junk managers just whipping people
As Bob Marley sang a song once;
Open your eyes and look within,
Are you satisfied with the life you're living?
We know where we're going,
We know where we're from.
We're leaving Cisco, y'all!
ANZ folks, you must be kidding. Living on privileged life without any competition. Let's see how long you can last with AWS
Gain in 1 year in AWS = 10 year of Cisco . Cisco is miles behind in this decade with the rest. Same like Nortel of late 90s.
AWS is at the top of the market, so folks going there now won't reap rewards beyond a job - which cisco can't promise you
The strategy has been to replace well paid and experienced sales people with early in career or associates.
Truly amazing genius !
It’s not just sales people but also quite a few biz ops, services, engineers and delivery people that have left Cisco for AWS.
Any professional in ANZ tech industry knows to avoid Cisco ANZ like the plague. The decade of cuts and disfunction has caught up with this mob.
There are many more preferred companies to work for in the market.
