Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Cuts are not going away

People, you need to understand that these cuts aren't going away until Fritz gets his numbers! Sadly I believe the cuts will continue to keep the numbers! Does anyone remember him apologizing for the title changing? Did anyone NOT see this coming after changing the titles back? NO ONE IS SAFE AT THIS COMPANY!!! My advice to you is to get out now. This once great company isn't worth it anymore. If you "feel" it coming, then just leave. There is life after the UP. I'm one of the unfortunate ones affected by this hellhole of a company! Now I'm just going to sit back and watch it meltdown! It's coming, just wait!

Well, exclamation point guy is right about one thing - no one at UP is safe, especially when their stock price starts falling. If Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and many others are correct, another recession is coming in the very near future. Recession = lower UP stock price. Lower UP stock price = UP layoffs/furloughs. Even if no recession happens in the next few years, read the recent headlines - GM offered buyouts to 1/3 of their employees with 12+ years tenure, Verizon offered buyouts to 1/4 of their employees, and the list of other shockingly large-scale layoffs/buyouts is too long to ignore. I’m not suggesting anyone quit his/her job in anticipation. Wait to get laid off so you can receive your severance package. But don’t wait to update your resume and brush up your skillset. No matter how much talent, education, or experience you possess, the job-seeker sea is getting fuller with each passing lay-off. I will bet that there are several thousands currently adrift who are just as talented, educated, and experienced as you who would be willing to do your job for less pay/benefits and even relocate to do so.

No surprise really. Fritz is a lying gutless F@#$. He's got less than 6 months and he knows it. When this goes sideways and the folks on the ground are gonna make sure it does Fritz will be answering to the board and the STB.

I'm not worried either...The Man (G-man) will always provide. And the Man will have final Judgement on these fools also.
