I hope this is really anonymous or I'll probably get fired for what I'm about to spew. I just sacrificed another Thanksgiving in order to sell c-ap to foreigners that they will get for free with the rebate. Even though it's free they still want to use a coupon. If Macy's thinks that these people are buying other merchandise besides the rebate stuff, they are dreaming. The coupons in the newspaper did nothing but make customers mad because they didn't work on anything. The entire store is on special. I have more to say about my specific dept but I don't want to take a chance.

People are entitled to give their opinions. Obviously anyone could leave, those of us who have been at Macy’s a while have seen it go downhill, Macy’s doesn’t know what it wants to be, the direction is a schlock store and that is not what Macy’s was.
Lol, cry babies is right. Hello u work in retail. What do you think would happen and free stuff all types of animals come out for that. No one tells you to stay, the door always open for new job.

I also feel Macy’s is no longer what the store was. Very sad. We are now on the same tier as discount stores, no prestige in any way shape or form. Opening Thanksgiving is absolutely a nightmare, Macys should think of their employees first, but we all know that will never happen. Very sad.
you need to get out! Any job will treat you better than Macy's and you won't have to be torchured by their horrendous practices anymore.
I didn't have any terrible customer. But that was a lot of work for no reward in Fine jewelry. 10.00 free Pearl's and watches and 39.99 earrings. I didn't have time to service the customer's that really wanted to buy Fine Jewelry. Opening at midnight would be perfectly fine. Black Friday people will come whenever you opoppen the door.
and yes....stop with the coupons during ODS and events like black Friday. !!

Wow....you all got free food for working that day??? We had to pay for ours..
We had fights break out over free stuff. People acting like animals grabbing the merchandise and walking off with it. People came several times in line and wanted to fight us when we said it’s 1 per household and we already gave you 4!!! I can’t believe Macy’s Is stooping so low to give free stuff to try and justify thanksgiving opening. You spent way more on operating costs and trying to make colleagues feel special with food that costs a ton too. Just go back to being closed. Care about your employees more than you care about attracting the walmart type customer. And no one was in store past 10pm so why the heck stay open until 2am. I’m definitely no longer proud to work for Macy’s.
I left two years ago, and it sounds like nothing has changed. The quarterly results continue to be terrific, but an example like this tells me that things are still the same.

Seriously, cry baby? Have a little compassion. Working Thanksgiving was a nightmare. The customers were horrendous.
