Word From the War Room

Any word if Sears continued the pathetic tradition of the "War Room"? You know.....that roomful of feckless executive in Hoffman that sit together on Thanksgiving to "resolve" Thanksgiving/ Black Friday issues live as they occur.

The 8 years I manned it you could bet on the same issues year after year....Missing doorbuster merchandise, prices loaded incorrectly, missing KitchenAid mixers, and the inevitable system wide crash of the POS system

Same problems every year. Nothing EVER fixed in anticipation of next year's event. Predictable as dirt, you could set your clock by each unresolved issue.

Your Sears management at its finest!

As a former Monkey Wards person I always loved that term

I felt as if I were an Indian planning for the re-enactment of Custer's Last Stand to take place in the diaper aisle after everyone sch*tts all over the place

@pjc To sum it up nicely, their POS ( Point of Sale) is a POS!!

To their defense, the war room concept is not just a Sears thing. I've worked at Circuit City and Best Buy, Office Depot. They all had "War Rooms" setup at their respective HQ for Black Friday.

When you say POS, do you mean point of sale or piece of sh--? Or both?
