On Dec 1st The Northern Region will eliminate nearly all Switchman and Brakeman positions. In yet another genius move. Despite offering $20k bonus this year for new hires and hiring through Nov and drawing the ire of the STB. The vast level of stupidity flowing forth from Lance is staggering. Govt intervention is now clearly on the horizon as customers are going to pay a heavy price for this idiocy.

Whats funny is numerous marketing and sales managers have asked lance eric-beth the same. "How can i ask my customers to pay a premium for worse service than they had last year?" Well, if i was a customer, i would just stop funding this madness. Which ironically, is what hunter always wanted.
Going from a foreman/switchman to just a foreman on an actual yard flat switching job is f---ing stupid, not lazy. Most of the smaller yards that flat switch are built a-- backwards so cars roll out when they don’t couple from kicking which means you have to shove everything to rest, which takes longer and is inefficient. But you wouldn’t know that from playing with your model trainset in your mother’s basement, now would you?
