Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Mechanical Ops is f*cked.......

While John Estes the Chief Mechanical Officer is retiring early next year to leave the sh-- hole he helped create, Guess what Jeremy Givens (AVP Locomotive) in Mechanical and Jim Brix (Manager of Mech ops)…..Your time is limited as well. Look about as far as January before the both of you a--holes are looking for employment. Happy times, huh? Just like the happy times you two dip sh--s have afforded to many of your employees over the last two months. You know, at the direction of an a--hole who is retiring early next year. Good luck dip sh--s.....I hope the both of you enjoy looking for a new job.

For the guy who is worried about "human dignity" while calling out specific management people within the Union Pacific.....How about this, they get treated with the same "human dignity" that they have afforded others while in their positions and during these layoffs. In case you missed it, Lance Fritz and his senior executive team are frequently called out by name. Don't worry though, you might be looking for another job yourself. The layoffs are not done, and I for one want to hear how you were treated with "human dignity" when that happens. They don't give a sh--. Why should anyone else care about their feelings. All three of the mo--ns mentioned have harassed employees for several years. It is about time they are exposed for who they are and how they treat people.

That lashing out is due to the Bitterness created by Management. It all starts with how Management treats the employees. Starts at the Top. Those that are suppose to Lead a group of people to accomplish Great things Together. Threats, Intimidation, and Lies....not Leading. When people take a Management Role and then realize their Leaders are F5cked in the Head...they have to decide, follow the Sick, Evil leader and prosper....Or take a stand for doing the Right thing(s) and probably lose their jobs. Tough position to be in but, regardless, one does have to look themselves in the mirror and live with the decision. An Evil Leader puts many fine folks in difficult situations unfortunately. And ultimately the Leadership structure will crumble into complete and total disrepair. This is happening at this company and the Death Spiral is pretty obvious. I feel for all of you who are affected -- Agreement and Non-Agreement...all have been hurt greatly.

While I totally disagree with the c-ap going on at UP currently, I absolutely cannot support someone calling out individuals by name who just do their best with what they’re given. I’ve worked with both of these individuals and while I don’t always support their ideas and maybe they’ve got some leadership areas to continue working on, it’s completely unfair to call them out by name on this anonymous tabloid website. Complete disregard for human dignity.

Ah but. Mechanical friends...don't follow that work. DON'T FOLLOW that work!! Take this opportunity to find something better. Trust me on this -- your skills will be more appreciated and you'll be compensated better, SOME WHERE ELSE. I'm an Electrician by Trade...Sooo many good jobs out here for skilled folks. Don't waste a minute of time throwing a pity party...just get out there and find that BETTER next job. Good luck. Remember that old song..."Take this job and shovve it" That's right. Everyone sing it Loud.

Capitalism: an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

"FOR PROFIT"....does not mean we have to be soooo Greedy as to destroy the business by disrespecting its customers and the hard working employees who produce day in and day out. Capitalism is a Great thing...in the hands of competent Leaders!! Capitalism is the only Good Choice, but again...there has to be boundaries. Good Leaders, Strong Leaders, know what those boundaries are and willfully stay within those boundaries for the good of ALL (including Shareholders--think Longterm).

It's because we're not a railroad anymore. We exist to please shareholders. Unreasonable expectations for unending growth and profitability. Too bad, too. We provide excellent service, but that's not good enough. It's never good enough under capitalism.

There are a lot of bitter people AT THIS COMPANY. Even employees still working are BITTER. The Bitterness is for good and valid reasons...no misfortune about it. This company breeds bitterness through poor and lacking Leadership.
