Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Who wants to bet?

The customers who were here for Black Friday will never be back to the store (until next Black Friday, of course,) I will bet anybody that right now. Not a single one of them. It's the same thing every year.

Which poses the question, what's the point? I don't understand how those on top don't wise up and see that we gain nothing and lose a lot with stunts like these.

Value employees more than the “valued customers” fighting over free cheap a-- pillows! Why can’t we enjoy thanksgiving with our families like we used to? Give out the free cheap c-ap on Black Friday.

You cannot compare retail to first responders, seriously ? How about Macy’s shows a little consideration for their employees and have them enjoy Thanksgiving with their families. And, no, the customers that came in on Thanksgiving we’re only interested in what they deemed to be “free”. Macy’s opens on Thanksgiving because they are greedy. Many customers who came in on Black Friday were saying they think it is awful we opened on the Holiday.

First of all, every customer is valued, whether it be regular or sale merchandise they purchase. Thanksgiving day and Black Friday sales reflect that the company show cased the right value to draw our guests to shop with us. Never doubt that feed back can be communicated in an effective way to your people leaders within your store. As far as being open on Thanksgiving.....many people work this day, first responders, Starbucks, your local TV and radio broadcasters. You chose retail. With this said, this is our "Superbowl. ". Like it or leave it.

So true. And our regular customers who actually do spend a fair amount of money in our stores and wait to come in until Friday morning are always annoyed that we have no freebie or dirt cheap items left.

A couple of regulars vented on Friday and Saturday saying we should make the items stretch so that shoppers each day of event will have an opportunity.

Good luck with that! We had associates getting scratched and clawed by low lowlives looking for extra free stuff and full blow fights between customers for the last free pillow!

Macys just needs to stop the freebies. It only brings out the worst. All my real customers say we should be closed too and revised to shop anywhere on thanksgiving
