Yesterday was the last working day of the Sears’s store at Dayton Mall. A sad picture of the nearly vacant property and shoppers picking up[ last discounted goods. I know this is just one store and that many other locations saw the same scenario but I had the urge to post this. My heart goes to the workers.

Prior Sears/Kmart store closures have often been decided by other factors than their sales performance.
It says a lot that the CEO office is so unconfident in their December sales that they closed all these stores in what's supposed to be peak shopping season. Out of the 3000 stores we used to have, aren't these among the best performers to have made it this far?

FWIW, last shopping day usually doesn't mean last working day. I think someone from another now-closed store posted recently that they were still cleaning out the place several weeks after liquidation ended, but I don't recall the details.
