Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Will this ever stop?

We just keep hearing about more and more and more layoffs. It went from being a monthly thing to a weekly thing. Are we heading for Union Pacific daily layoff announcements? I wouldn't be surprised considering what we've been seeing lately.

Is there an end in sight? I don't know for how much longer my nerves can take this.

Our government is corrupt. Our company and their board is corrupt. The Republicans who are in power have turned a blind eye. American Unions are weak and corrupt. It’s not just UP it’s every (major) corporation. It probably won’t end well over here. And for the next many years there will be no way out of this mess for UP. They are destroying the franchise by neglecting their assets. Third world company in what is becoming a third world country.

All the profits will be gone after they get busy again and want to pull units from storage then will have to repair more from sitting. Water pumps, seals, piping, batteries, air conditioning the list goes on then theybwill be behind and have to hire us right back to keep up with demand.take care of your equipment and it will take care of you went out the window.this will backfire i promise. Drive your car 3 times to and from work a day and expect it to not break down and then fire your mechanic thats just asking for trouble someone needs preventive maintenance 101

Is is wrong that my subconscious mind automatically read that comment to the tune of Ice Ice Baby? Even before I knew I was doing it.

"The Westinghouse Air Brake Company was formed the following year. This invention was slowly adopted by many railroads...but it became mandatory equipment with the passage of the Railway Safety Appliance Act in 1893."

The Railroads have a long, well documented history of putting Profits over People. That's why they resisted so much to putting Air Brakes on their equipment when it became available. And the government had to step in and mandate the use. The government has had to do this type of mandating in the rail industry many, many times in the last 150 years.

Well GM is closing 5 plants and Ford to follow suit. That means less cars and parts for the railroad to move. Not to mention all of the other industries that are laying off that use the railroad. And the more people laid off, the less they are going to buys goods that are shipped on the railroad.

UP is not laying off due to a slumping economy!! A.K.A Record Profits. They're laying off to make even bigger Profits. Profits over People.

Yo, I don't know

Turn off the lights and Lance will glow

To the extreme, his team rocks mics like vandals

They light up a stage and waxs chumps like candles

If you got high costs, yo they’ll solve it. Eliminate jobs as the stock price rises above it.

Unified Plan 2020 Baby!
