If I get laid off, can I look for another job or is it best to just wait by the phone hoping to get called back to Sears???

WOW people, you can clearly tell this was a job post. After reading everything on this site who in the hell would wait by the phone for Sears to call them back!?

Definitely wait by the phone. You should apply to Bon Ton, ToysRUs and Circuit City while you wait just in case. Try Linens 'n Things and brick & mortar Rado Shack too. Doesn't hurt to have options.
I would suggest you wait it out. Do not look for a job or go on any interviews until they call you back.
