Through an internal placement I'm joining Appdynamics team in Blr in Grade 10. Was there any Layoff this year in the unit ? I was given a very rosy picture by the hiring manager.
I have one offer outside Cisco also in a lesser known but stable company. Shall I consider it instead of Appdynamics ?
Stay away from "AppD." I was recruited out of a job I loved, they painted a pretty picture of how great it was, then I moved to SF to work there and it was HELL. Was only there a few months before I got laid off. Several people were laid off at AppDynamics just this past November. It's not that great of a place. Poor leadership. The "strategy" is always changing. You can't get anything done. Lots of "restructuring." .... not worth it in my opinion!
It feels more like a internal tool the public cloud providers would develop in any case like google would have developed a ecosystem of tools around kubernetes
Selling it to large enterprises may have been the talk but why would enterprises buy this from csco rather than a vmware or msft?
This has to be the worst acquisition ever. Interesting product, but the field of customers is limited and Cisco has no idea how to sell it to their customers. $3.7 billion in the c-apper. It is very possible this will be run into the ground and not exist in 5 years.

Bansal fooled Cisco and the SVP who was fooled (RT)/his acquisition team has to leave for the blunder. The LR that happened in Collaboration early this year and in networking last month year is a result of this failed acquisition (and of-course some other ones).

If you still have the external offer available & its better than this, please accept it and move ahead. You will do very well in life ahead....
Appdynamics was acquired by RT in Collab who is no longer there. They do not know how the networking gears will make use of it. There are only demos for integration, nothing more. There was 20% cut this year in the staff and lot of its core senior people have left. Some old Cisco team has now joined it, and have no idea on how to operate it. I was in Rayleigh and have now moved to Router division. If the other option you are having is good, then accept that. Cisco is not the same as it was few years back.
