Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Strange coincidence? Think Not!

Kroger is building a 335,000 sq ft, 55 million dollar warehouse in Monroe. This is three exits north of the ever expanding WC DC. Put two and two together people! Not too difficult to figure out, if the truth is what your after.

DC..ask the same question to the CRM’s who work with much higher ups who have a much more in depth knowledge of profitability, “why retailers are allowing our competitors to be programmed while we are not”. “Wing on 16 or no support”, that’s what we see. Sure we can try to sell against things but when Keebler is programmed for price space, again ask the CRM. It all comes down to profitability. What are the retail margins? Seems you should be smart enough to figure that one out!

Since someone else acquiring us didn’t pan out (operating costs are too high), now investors are pulling out. They did their fair share of waiting.

First thing Mondelez did after splitting from Kraft was to take away a weeks vacation and 2 PTO days. Pretty telling DC.

You almost sound like your management, trying to convince us Mondelez is a decent company. We know better!

It all comes down to price and ownership DC.

Store's take ownership and they have the better pricing.

Pen and phone is killing Nabisco. Time's have changed DC. We're at a disadvantage. Thanks for your perspective but DSD will end soon. Game over!!

I never claimed that Mondelez did Not cut costs... I simply stated Keebler is in a much more fragile and desperate state... hence exit of DSD, selling brands, etc.

I also never stated we were too big to exit DSD.. I simply stated I don’t know if it will be 1 year from now or 5.

The Nabisco cheer leader guy.. no I’m not a cheer leader..

But I’m not sure about you guys, but we out display Keebler 4 to 1 on average out here.. not sure why you’re letting a c-appy biscuit brand with very little push out display you..

Nearly every store you walk into Keebler is out displaying Mondelez. Why? Cause stores now own the product! Simple. 20ct multipacks, stores built Keebler buses and priced matched us to get rid of the product from the flash sale at Kroger! There is virtually no way we can compete with this!

For those that keep saying, “we’re too big, and we make them way to much money”, wake up!! There are companies far bigger than us that are warehouse and do just fine! Retailer don’t give a c-ap about how much we make, they care about how much they make! They gonna make a whole lot more without dsd! That’s for sure!

DC, nobody has cut more costs than Mondelez! Irene was the cost cutting queen. We’re not selling more, charging more! Keebler is beating us but their stock is lumped with Kellogg so it appears different. We’ve laid off plenty, ask the bakery workers in Chicago who were replaced by Mexican workers making $1 hour with no benefits! Get your facts straight DC!

Keebler is killing nabisco on so many levels better priceing more ad activity and more mandated displays nabisco can’t compete with that until nabisco gets the dsd piano off their back .what worse for both companies is the category is dieing you can’t have high operating cost when the nabisco categories are dieing that why dsd is dead Kellogg made the move first nabisco will be next

Let’s be honest guys:

Who knows if DSD is going away next year or in 5 years..

But PLEASE get your facts straight.

Keebler is NOT killing us or doing well.

They’ve had SEVERAL waves of layoffs since exit of DSD.

Shares to date this year are down over 5 percentage points.

And they’re now wanting to sell off several of their cookie subsidiaries...

They are cutting costs, cutting costs, cutting costs..

Soon enough, there will be nothing else to cut.

They cut a ton of money from exiting DSD (kept them profitable)

They cut employees 2 or 3 more times (to keep shares from falling to quickly)

Now they are needing a ton of operating income and cash by selling off subsidiaries..

Nothing good about it.

Are the a bit more proiftable at the moment.. sure.

But Long term... they will absolutely struggle even more so.. short term gain is never worth it.

Problem is Kellogg been killing nabisco with a pen and phone all day long better pricing mandated display at retail less expensive for Kellogg to compete at retail with dsd gone low overhead at Kellogg nabisco can’t compete with that the only way nabisco can compete is if they get the dsd piano off their back stop cheerleading below dsd is dead

It's just a coincidence. Nabisco makes too much money to leave DSD! Without us their numbers will tank like Keebler
