Always make sure you have any personal items backed up. Though you shouldn't have any on the company laptop to begin with!
Things you need to be aware of: PTO payout, benefits, and what is the package. If your terminated for cause (continued probation etc), you probably aren't getting a package.
Bottom line, there's no loyalty anymore!
