Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

By 2020 75% of Cisco’s businesses will be digital

I get that moving into new and emerging markets is not just only a wise move, but a necessity in order to survive and cope with the competition. I am also aware that the leadership stated the company is going to move into the software area and into digital markets. What worries me is the fact that Cisco will become a very different company from the one that it is now and in a relatively short amount of time. It’s not like we didn’t have enough layoffs as it is, but this kind of change is bound to produce a demand for a different type of workforce. Think we need to be ready.

If digital means digital sales (eg online recurring software), does it mean we only need 25% of the sellers....

Just peeking in from elsewhere, I'm honestly surprised to know that Cisco even does any analog business in 2018.
