My transition period is ended in December 7th, and the dead line of sign separation agreement is December 22nd. If I sign the paper just before the deadline, can benefit pay check be issued in the 2019? Since I can get the tax advantage.

Err, isn’t Cisco’s tax year aligned with their financial reporting?
"Overnight" Fedex/ups on Dec 20th.
I heard the deadline to sign the Sep agreement is Dec 20. I also heard that if you send in your signed paperwork postmarked Dec 18 or 19.. it is,likely you will get the payout in 2019.
they should be able to do this as they can accrue the expense this year, so they can take the tax benefit this year. The pay check to you will be dated next year, personal tax return is reported using cash basis, which means using the actual pay check date.
They are doing this for us.
Cisco will want to take the tax write off in this year and will most likely process the pay off before the new year. You have to understand, they have timed all of this to their advantage not yours.
