Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Hoping this week is layoffs free...

I'm not sure how much more of this constant worrying I can take... I've been trying to find a new job that's close to my current pay grade, but so far I've come up short, which only makes me stress even more...

Even a week off from constant worrying would be great...

Rochester is quickly saturating. Most on this board will find that out after months of serious looking for employment.

I found a new job and started yesterday. Wasn't going to wait around for a layoff, even if it meant I got 3 months severance. Put in 20 yrs at Xrx.

Not as many tech jobs in Rochester now compared to 2008 and salaries are stagnant.

You guys have lost your minds if you think the job market is like 2008. That's some serious cognitive dissonance. Unemployment is at like a 50 year low. Clean up your resumes and leave the company, but don't blame Xerox's failure to stay relevant on the current job market. Ridiculous.

Mainstream media reports on what the WH says, so let’s not blame them, although Fox refusal to be critical is a serious problem. The reality is jobs are up but those are low wage jobs, and stock market performance has nothing to do with the economy. Xerox layoffs are to satisfy the stock market so Icahn and Vinsentin can cash in.

Practically every major(and minor)corporation is laying people off or has in the past 12 months. Xerox is a dinosaur, and in an environment where layoffs are happening like 2008, finding a job which matches your pay would be akin to a miracle.

Yes, I know the mainstream media says the "ECONOMY IS BOOMING!"

Well, they lie. Big shocker.
