Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Involuntary Severance

The Charleston call center has been given 3 severance dates. Dec 28, Mar 22 & June 28, there is a rumor floating around that they are letting the supervisors who took the severance go the first round. We find out on Dec 10th if we got selected or not then supposedly the reps go March 22. Has anyone heard the same? All of care left in Sept for HBA or took the severance. The call volume is ridiculously high, usually 300+ calls in que daily and it’s been that way for almost a year. The sups are just as lost as the reps. The reps have lost all faith in Verizon.

I meant Voluntary Seperation not Involuntary. If you didn’t select the Voluntary seperation then involuntary would be next if you stay until June 28th.

The call center in Charleston is Verizon Wireless and HBA stands for home based agent. I just wanted to know if anyone had any information on this supervisors leaving first instead of reps on Dec 28th.

HBA = Home Based Associate. It’s what Verizon Wireless is doing when they close corporate call centers, wherein you can work from home.

Wireless CFS (which, Wireless means Non-Union) has had a big presence in Charleston ever since the center opened in the mid 2000s (mainly as a replacement for Morristown, NJ’s old Wireless call center).

Charleston...is this a wireline CFS... Customer Financial Services or wireless? Managers and union represented employees are impacted? What is HBA? I thought this buyout was voluntary but one of these posts say "involuntary package". Trying to clarify instead of assuming........so hard to do these days.

I am so done with call centers. T-Mobile is a great place no doubt but I am through with call centers.

Take the money and go to the brand new T-Mobile call center in Charleston. By all accounts, T-Mobile is succeeding quite nicely in Charleston with plenty of ex-VZWers.

Charleston Customer Care was offered HBA or a severance back in February and their last day was September 28th. CFS just found out last month HBA would be an option or you could take the involuntary severance package. The dates of severance were split into 3, Dec 28, March 22 or June 28th. We had to bid back in October for the involuntary severance package and we find out on December 10th if we get to leave on the 28th of December or the two other dates.
