Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Speaking of 5G modems...

if you look at all the field trials in China and US(Verizon)... Here's the current status.

Qualcomm: (furthest ahead) (Verizon) field trials ongoing. Ready to go. waiting standards completion.

Huawei (China): mobile and infrastructure 5G trials ongoing. Ready to go. waiting for standards completion.

Mediatek: trials ongoing, ready to go .. waiting for standards completion.

Intel: no field trials spotted yet anyway with tier 1 carrier.

This is no joke. The three leading 5G companies are all waiting for the 5G standards completion, because no carrier wants to go live without the standard finalized. However, vendors that are far behind keep submitting b.s. change requests to the 5G standards body, to drag things out as long as possible to buy themselves more time. Guess who is the worst offender of trying to burying the 5G consortium with b.s. standards delay? Yup Intel....

nobody likes Intel in the 5G world...it's not jealousy. it's more like having to put up with a r----ded kid that thinks he is Einstein.

there is no way that a product with an Intel 5G modem will be in production and in consumer hands with an Intel ,5G anytime soon. I am surprised no one has realized how ridiculously long certification process is with any tier 1 or even tier2 mobile carrier. If a vendor isn't already in a production device undergoing field trials, it will take at least 1 year to consumer available , and even so, that would be extremely aggressive.
