Even though it’s not been formally announced yet, I have seen a list for my organization. 75% of the button pushers in my org are hanging around until March. The other 25% will go in December. No one was rejected or will be forced to stay until June. Either this supports the 2Q19 theory or there were far more takers than anticipated. My team is losing nearly 50% so my guess is there are more takers than they expected.

Now the co has their list of those to riff Hows about they reject most and use the list for riffs after Jun28. Maybe the plan all along

On my team call this week, my director (who knows I pushed the green button) stated that Verizon 2.0 will not go in effect until April 1, and that sales kickoff won't be until April (it's always been in January). She remarked that VSP was oversubscribed, and that we shouldn't be surprised, given the full quarter's delay in rolling out the new 2.0 org, if many of the VSP departures don't take place until March, rather than December 28.

An extra three months won't hurt anyone, and certainly the extra pay and bonus would be nice, though many of us have already made plans or are simply ready to go. My director acknowledged that productivity will be pretty low among those people who know they are departing at a later date. As we called it back in high school, it'll be a massive case of "senioritis" - where you've already checked out mentally from work, but you're still physically there...kind of like the month of low-productivity month of December, but now adding three more months onto the tab.

The company might be better just ripping the bandaid off, rather than delaying departures by a quarter.

IT infosys transition is not done yet. Its supposed to be Dec 29. However the security challenges have still to be addressed for access

The rebadged employees who took the ESP have not been told of a last date. They will be told only 1 month in advance not on 12/10 like the VSP employees

“Except IT, network, technology folks, most of them will be approved.

Why IT not. Already, many people moved to Infosys with the new business model in global tech solutions model. On top of it, few of the Infosys accepted VRS and they were gone by December 29th. So already business achieved the target what they want with Infosys re-badge.”

Heard the same yesterday, wonder if you are who I talked too. Lol.

Makes no sense to push people to March that were told December and aren’t critical. That’s an extra 3 months of vacation accrual, personal days, healthcare, and prorated bonus, which goes against the whole goal of this exercise to cut costs.

Unfortunately, I think we have a lot of trolls here that get off on trying to stress out fellow employees, which is messed up.

March day is a part of the strategy, it makes a lot of sense to let people think that the date would be December, but later dates will be selected for everyone

Good luck to those who got an offer from other companies

"Vz2.0 not until the end of March is real, I heard it last week." From where? This is why there are so many arguments on here. Coworker? Manager? VP? Director? Or just simple break room talk?

If the goal is to eliminate people off the payroll to meet numbers, I can see them cutting the most tenured higher salary people first. Regardless if you're in IT, Networking, Finance, or are legacy F/GTE F /XO etc. Sure some in your group might get Dec, some March or June. The goal here is to lower expenses. I think a lot of arguments on this board come from people who never worked with each other or have an entirely different role at VZ. Again, I see them taking at least 65% of the people off before Jan 1st. Opinion only, not a fact.

@1ovw your rambling diatribe makes no sense. With very few exceptions anyone (even IT) who volunteered will be going whether they are paper pushers, technical, tenured or not. 50% of the volunteers will be gone 12/28, with the rest going in March and June. Infosys rebadge is scheduled for the end of month, but with very little progress being seen on the transition, it would not be surprising if that date gets pushed. The people who declined InfoSys will roll off as their application/work is transitioned. There are no specific dates for this. It's just a 30 day notice. On Monday, you can all stop speculating as you'll have your email with accept/reject and, if applicable, your off payroll date. Just five more days people. Good luck!

Except IT, network, technology folks, most of them will be approved.

Why IT not. Already, many people moved to Infosys with the new business model in global tech solutions model. On top of it, few of the Infosys accepted VRS and they were gone by December 29th. So already business achieved the target what they want with Infosys re-badge.

However, company reserve the right who should be approved. No legal can win the case.

Given the situation, after Infosys move, Most IT technical folks will be rejected irrespective of their age, experience qualifications.

IT folks will be accepted only who are 20 plus years’ experience. Who are none technical, who are paper pushers, who are just conference call lovers etc., who do job without putting their fingers on keyboard?

However, there are still bunch of c-appy people around who were not taking VRS, who were not moved to Infosys – being they were close to few decision makers (Directors, VP’s etc.)

After Directors, VP’s re-shuffle in March, all those waste fellows will be riffed for a better cleaner environment.

@Wt5IGjn-wid we were told on those lunch time calls that if you are held over, your pension would be locked at the January rate. Unless the rate went down the you would get that one.

Thought the goal was to get as many off the books before Jan 1st. This message board seems to have people from both sides screaming gloom and doom no matter what route you took

You are better off leaving on 12/28 if you have a pension lump sum. You will basically work for free if you stay.

While it won't be official until Monday, a couple of my peers and I have already been informed that we will be here until the March date. For weeks my boss had said he'd support me rolling off on 12/28, but now states that this change in plans is completely out of his hands.

Although I was pretty excited for 12/28, I am not devastated to have to stay here until March. 3 more months maxed out 401K contributions, more vacation to sell back, personal days to use and I can relax a bit about tightening the budget on frivolous spending for 3 more months. In addition, it will be nice to be set free in the spring instead of the dead of winter as I plan to relax and enjoy the great outdoors a whole lot more once I am done here.

I’d not mind March. I think it’s reasonable. If they can let people go in December they will. But if someone is needed for the business, it could be March or June.

I heard last week that it was likely that many who were counting on December might see March.

I really want to December date.. But I would not be mad at March. Understand that means 5 more sick days, Personal days and vacation! That's why I'm doubting that.
