Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Are you serious?

How? How is Cisco among 2019 Best Places to Work as voted by its employees? How bad are other companies then if we are among the top 100 - 69th to be precise??? These employee reviews can't be real, can they?

Okay, little Cisco internal secret. They don't even have to buy these statements. They use their size to do it.

They have a service called DigitalSignal (previously Voicestorm).

Basically, they send an alert to their employees to ask them to do various things to promote the company.

For example, I got dozens of alerts asking me to vote for Chuck Robbins for some executive award b---s---. Evidently his fragile vanity needs another external award and they exploit their base for that.

Cisco is one of the most dishonest companies I have ever worked for. Just straight up nonstop b---s--- from day 1. Part of this dishonestly is to game polls and systems using a social media tools.

This information is not true. Most of the top candidates from Tier 1 institutes do not prefer Cisco as an employer at all. I participate in campuses across IITs and we get all bottom rankers or many times no candidate at all. Truth is, half of the crowd leave our presentations in the middle at their campuses. This is due to the fact that Cisco is an integration company who acquires and grows, not a product one like Google.

Cisco is a big company, so depending on which org, function or country you work in, you will have a different experience. If you're on this board regularly and worried about layoffs, then you probably don't think Cisco is a "great place to work." But the vast majority of Cisco employees that I know take the comments here with a huge grain of salt.
