Long term fXO'r here... i have heard mixed answers on this. I have had my work Cell number for many years, and no personal cell - anyone know if VZ will let us port these former xo cell numbers for our continued use?

sorry I should have clarified. the number will port to your personal line if you have a wireless account (you will need one I believe). they will then mail you a return label for your old phone. you'll have 30 days to send it back. Make sure your account shows your ported TN prior to buying a new phone. Also when they call you they will confirm today is the day you want. you can back out at that point and resubmit. They are just very quick about it and there's really no lag time enough though the confirmation message on the submittal indicates so. Once I receive my return label ill go phone hunting and this will give me time to xfer my data over as well...
just note, once you submit you'll get a call from them that day and that will be the day the number is added to your personal wireless bill. For those on VSP, you may want to wait for quite some time before doing so. Just personal preference. I'd rather take my number now than to deal with this after being rebadged to Infosys and if I can't get reimbursement there, oh well I guess. I'd rather not deal with the headache anyway.
I have a vz cell phone and number for many years. When do you make the port move? Do you need to go get a personal phone and port the number before going off paroll or after. And, how do you get form and approval if after?
I am going to switch to T mobile as soon as i leave this place
Sweet! I've had my number for maybe 20 years now. Not too worried about getting work related calls after I'm gone as I've always just kept my business line forwarded to it and have given that number out to customers instead. That method has afforded much more peace and quiet on vacations by simply turning off the forwarding function! It is however the direct number all of my family and friends have to reach me as well as the number I use for numerous two factor authentication supporting accounts. Nice not to have to start over on all of that!
Here's the link for information about keeping your work cell number and porting it to a personal device. https://vzweb.verizon.com/assumption-liability-policy
Thank you for everyone that responded. Will go look for that form.
yep there's a simple access form and it converts very quickly.
Yes concession device mdns are owned by VZ. You can request to that dept and see. I have had the same number for a looonnnggg time, and moved mine to a personal account earlier this year.
I don't want my network number. Do you know how many people have that number? No more calls all hours day or night. It will be nice not to have a pager, call phone or radio I have to answer.
Been nice working with most of you.
The company phone account is owned by sourcing. So you need to submit a form with manager sign off and you account will be converted to a personal account. Then you can call and take control and pick a plan etc. Hope that helps. I am sure this form will be very popular over the next 6 months.
A best device you have your own. A concession line that might be tricky...
How would you find this information? I've never seen a bill for the concession account.
True... what are they going to do fire you? Lol
If you know the pin and account number how can they stop you?
