Portland office to close 09/2019

90% of the staff in the Portland office were told they would be let go within the next 4 - 10 months. The impacted folks are from the TR Indirect Tax side of the business.

I remember interviewing with the Portland folks back in 2009, when the Thomson Reuters takeover happened... I did not get a job. Looking back I am still p-ss-d a little, since they literally pulled me over from half the world away for those 3 days :)

How does this affect the Indirect Tax business as a whole? Are they really laying those guys off or just relocate the show from Lake Oswego to somewhere else?

LOL, yes it rather progressive. Well, TR had acquired the Portland based Indirect Tax business back in '08 or '09 I believe.

And how motivated will employees be to do a good and accurate job when they know they are dead men/women walking?
