How does this directly affect the OP?.....If you are still employed at Sears and have not looked for another job yet, what is stopping you from moving on?....How is Sears dragging out the bankruptcy process affecting you or holding you back?

At this point it actually works to his advantage to render the business as worthless as possible so he can scoop up the real estate at the cheapest price IF he can get all the debt off the books. That appears to be his current strategy. It's obvious to everyone at this point that the business itself is a net negative, but may have some value in small chunks.
The longer this drags out is more money in Eddie's pockets. He hasn't s---ed the corpse completely dry yet.
