- What new services are you putting in the stores and when will they open?
CVS Health will begin piloting enhanced health services in the community in early 2019, in the form of new concept stores. The pilot will include the programs mentioned above and explore new services to better address the cost-quality-access challenges that consumers face.
- Will there be job eliminations? If yes, how will talent decisions be made and will I need to reapply for my current role?
The effects of organizational integration will be primarily limited to departments where there are duplicate corporate functions or where business operations overlap. As a result, most CVS Health colleagues will not be affected and you will not need to reapply for your job. In the few areas where talent decisions will be made, leaders will communicate the process to those affected.
Store level FS/RX colleagues. Use some common sense and basic reasoning here. Changes will come, but it will take significant time. Piloting a concept store is step one. Observering and adjusting to its success and failures is step two. Perfecting it for roll out is step three. Spending millions to implement it is the final step. We are now $69B in debt. 2019 is about integration, patient data, and pilot/testing a new store concept. It’s probably also going to be about serious expenses control.
Some pharmacists here think they are safe while managers will be shown the door in 2019. The truth is any major changes across the retail segment of our company will take years to implement. The sh-- stirrers on this site have every one thinking come January the hammer will fall on managers. We are talking 9000 locations. 20 distribution centers. Countless field and support roles. Shrinking stores would effect more than just store managers. Does it truly sound reasonable that this is all going to magically be eliminated that fast? Please use your brain.
Let me start by saying in general, I have the utmost respect for pharmacists. However, I do not respect the entitled, complaining, ego maniacs who think they are better than anyone who did not go to pharmacy school. The next comments are about them and not the hard working, dedicated, selfless pharmacy leaders.
Some of the pharmacists on here are trying to rattle us. They are insecure about their management abilities and use their education level and self declared health care provider title (Lets be honest. They are following the written instructions of the actual provider otherwise known as the doctor) to scare us into thinking our goose is cooked. They are trying to make us feel as insecure as they feel because they know if it wasn’t for their wealth of medical knowledge, THEIR goose would be cooked. They are feeling the pressure of We Care, Patient Care, AP CR, HR/payroll, mySchedule, mCE, mSH, and tons of other management responsibilities. You know, the stuff FS managers have been doing for years. They are lost and lashing out. I am fortunate to have a great Pharmacy Manager in my store. Anything she does not know I am happy to help her with and she is happy to learn and visa versa. She is not entitled, or smug and we make a great team. Her partners? That’s another story.
No doubt this will be a challenging year for EVERYONE. Store level and up. Expectations will be high. Tools and Resources will be low. It’s honestly no different from any other year. Things have been and will continue to get tighter year after year. That’s what makes us strong, resilient and innovative. Instead of complaining about it, do something. Either walk away or do what’s asked if you. Those are choices within your power. No one makes you stay. But if you do stay, there are expectations. It’s not a free ride. It’s called accountability. Your value is in the results you provide.
If you are scared its probably because you know you aren’t valued.
