Thread regarding Sears layoffs

IKEA Industry in Danville Cutting about 100 jobs

There is about 400 people working here. About 25% will be laid off and you can find WARN notices filed with the state as it exceeds the layoff tresholds. It's also all over the news - so please do not tell me it's not happening and this is the strongest economy we ever had - things are slowing down indeed:

Meanwhile, everybody and their brother has now hiring signs out. Talking to a few people, there's a lot of good paying, non-skilled jobs out there that companies can't fill because a) they can't find people who can pass the d--g test or b) the ones that do don't actually want to work for a paycheck.
