Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Is today the layoff day?

Has it been determined if layoffs are happening today or on Thursday?

It'd be good to know what I'm walking into at work today. I'd like to prepare myself mentally ahead of time.

(Although, in all honesty, lately I've been preparing myself for possible layoffs every single day.)

Yes. I am curious about the same. What groups will be affected. I am in sales and worry everyday my job will be eliminated.

Its funny they were nominated for being one of America's "Most Just" companies for 2018. We're just going to RIF you. We just don't care about your family. We just don't care that it's the holidays. We're just going to keep paying scum bags millions of dollars while you just try to figure out how to tell your kids Santa just had to skip your house this year.

If ~1050 people were laid off from January 1 through September 30, 520 in one event is a pretty big number (not saying it's wrong, I have no direct knowledge of what is or might be coming).

From Xerox' Q3 2018 SEC filing:

Worldwide Employment

Worldwide employment was approximately 33,200 as of September 30, 2018 and decreased by approximately 2,100 from December 31, 2017, largely driven by our business transformation. Approximately half of the reduction was associated with restructuring actions, while the remainder resulted from net attrition (attrition net of gross hires), of which a large portion is not expected to be backfilled.

Replying to the post from @Wyt3q7Z-1ude:

If you can say without identifying yourself, do you know how many will be affected? Specific orgs/groups or across the board?

Dumpsters were not setup in B111 for the August, September and October layoffs. A lot of cubicles/offices need to be cleaned out. New residents are in the way in the new year.

There was a post that mentioned a large amount of moving boxes that were ordered. An admin told me that some buildings will be vacated so they will be consolidating and moving employees. I heard many are moving to buildings 111, 207 & 208 in Webster from other nearby buildings. This doesn’t mean the present rumor of layoffs this week won’t happen, Just that it may help explain the large number of moving boxes ordered. No WARN notices by Xerox lately.

I wouldn't take anything written here as gospel. There have been true things posted here, and speculation posted here. Nothing matters until it happens.
