Store closures

Why are we assuming more stores are going to close?

Of course there will be more closings, anyone with common sense can see the future of brick and mortar stores becoming a thing of the past- look at what is happening to Sears right now. They were once the largest retail chain but times change and the way that people shop has changed. Sam’s is so far behind Amazon and will always be All of the investments they are making to try to compete digitally will cost millions and the costs will be funded by closing clubs!

End of the month we're switching to the pallet driven sales floor and supposedly no changing anything around except for once a year is that a TL told me. They'll be taking out all of our steel shelving. So I'm thinking we're going to have a lot of cancelled items coming up. And since Kroger is rolling out digital price signs and Sam's Club Now is testing them... I wouldn't be surprised to see a cut in each clubs staff and not any closing. We shall see tho, never know.

We are a very profitable club and high in sales comp. We are as well experiencing low produce volume and steel is fairly empty. This is nothing to fret from. We are in between seasons, soon the steel will be so overflowing that everyone will start complaining that you have too much. January is a popular time for produce, even the clubs that hardly sell any are selling more than expected which results in over all shortages for everyone.

If everyone's stock is so low then they're not going to wait until February. They want it all done before fiscal year.

Here is a question...our steel is low, our deli is low, weird items on clearance throughout the club, trucks have slowed to getting minimal stock, haven't gotten jewelry in awhile ..my question is, is this happening at all stores or are there stores that are full and still getting a ton of frieght?

I'm out of stock on nearly all my produce in my club. All my runs are empty. Needless to say, the "are we closing?" rumors have shot way, way up in the last 48 hours.

Because reliable sources have said it. Around 100 stores. 63 last year the rest this year.
