One of the most worthless and overpaid positions in the company, second to the Field Service Managers, which will now become Market Service Managers (over installers). How do these worthless people keep their positions, but the stores keep taking the hits? Unbelievable.

@X1D0rBZ-1bon- You talked about the Specalist "sit with customers". We were told in the morning meeting that the work stations are about to be gone! OPE is first. How are you gonna sit and sell anything? No workstations on the floor!

That's actually a good point. All these stupid names for the same jobs. Just call the ASMs ASMs followed by their dept. ASM - Operations, ASM - Merchandising, etc. they also need to split off the specialists into their own group. Let CSAs work the dept and have an area for speciality sales and installs that is away from the general sales floor, like kitchens. It's crazy that people try to get contracts done as the only one in the dept with other customers interrupting. Let ASM - Sales own specialists in a concentrated area where they specialize in 2 - 3 departments and actually be able to sit with customers and close big sales without being yelled at about the grout aisle or the faucet aisle being a mess. Then you can let service managers worry about their depts and let the ASM - Sales worry about their numbers.

Of course the MSM are staying, they wouldn't give them all 26 weeks severance at the same time. They will probably reduce the number of markets by increasing each market's size, ditch half to 1/3 of the market staff, and keep the rest. They will re-title some positions to remove PSI and PSE from the job description and maybe add some additional responsibilities that they will never actually do anyway.
