It seems that hard work, experience, commitment to the company, and new ideas have become liabilities for an employee to progress within the company ranks. The company seems to favor younger folks without any real experience, as they expect from them absolute obedience and loyalty. I look to me like that they consider anyone who uses his brain to be a threat to the established system.

Money has nothing to do with it. They want a lump they can mold to the bad management practices already followed in Lowe's. There are so many age discrimination, s-x discrimination, inappropriate comments, and all kinds of HR violations that occur. They frown on ideas or someone knowing right from wrong. This is exactly why the store is going downhill. The young are not loyal and do not care about the company. They roam around and flirt all day. They don't care about the company. Young people think only young people are of value. You get a younger store manager or ASM and they hire only younger people who are similar in age to them. They discount others as being an annoyance or not having a clue. They tap young, inexperienced on the shoulder for promotions from CSA to Service Manager with no background to support it. It is all about age discrimination. All these people who are poor managers do not want to be outshined by anyone else so they continue to propagate ignorance by hiring less qualified people than themselves. It is such a disgrace. People notice this when they shop and they make comments also. These young people pushed up to management are also very rude to customers but that info is buried by their buddy the store manager so nothing is ever done.

Younger employees work cheaper than older people. Two of our service managers still live at home. Cheaper to hire them than those with rent or mortgage to pay.
