I want to remind people to use the hotline to report any bullying or intimidation, especially by a supervisor. Chevron takes that very seriously and depending on the PSG involved will send independent investigators. It is all anonymous and there are consequences for those not following The Chevron Way. They CAN NOT retaliate in any way. I don’t get why so few people make the call and choose to suffer instead when bullies weaken our company.

To be transparent, I'm ambiguous on the Hotline, if you've got no other options, use it. But I have to say I've personally seen both good and bad with it. Good, where it was used, and helped to uncover "bad apples" in Chevron, making us a better and stronger company. Bad, where it was used and the focus once the info made it to the BU level was to find out who had made the call, with pretty much zero interest in the matter of the call. Again, you have to encourage all to work through all possible means of resolving issues long before you get to the hotline level, but if you've reached the point where you have nothing to lose, what have you got to lose?
This is the biggest pile of garbage advice I've seen on here yet. We did call the hotline/ombuds on a completions team lead who referenced "amateur hour at the Apollo theatre" to one of our vendors in an email and for those of you who don't know what the reference is there, "Cohen decided the Apollo would be the first theatre to allow black people to perform, at a time when African-Americans were forbidden from entering most theatres in the US".
After the call and a copy of the email sent. We were told that it's a "cultural thing" and to not worry about it. Diversity and inclusion eh Chevron? "eyes rolling"
Use the hotline and only YOU will get burned. It’s an easy trap to fall into. Stay away from the hotline. If you must report something, use a Confidential Interoffice envelope and don’t leave your fingerprints on it.
I'd rather not call a hotline for what I think are obvious reasons - is there an email address that can be used?
It seems rare, but I know a gal who eventually left the company after a hotline call. She was in violation of company policy, so well done for reporting it. We weren't sorry to see the behind of her!
With bullying and persecution, there comes a point where you people no longer have any influence or say over what happens next. This is especially significant when you cost someone their career and affect their families. I hope you feel the risk was worth it.
I agree, all significant deviance from the Chevron Way should be addressed. If no other route works or is available, the hotline is an excellent resource. It is not backstabbing. It is helping the company and your colleagues build a safe and productive workplace. I regret not calling about a few monsters in the past.
Use the Hotline at your own peril. Keep your nose to the grind and trudge through your job, I say. It’s not worth risking your cushy high paying Chevron job just to back-stab a colleague or a worthless dumbazz boss.
HR is not involved in the hotline. Corp Legal handles it. Bullies often have good relationships with theirs supervisors so I would be careful going around them.
I don’t use the hotline because I want to keep my job.
