Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Does anyone have any creative ways to unjam the compactor when it’s a weekend and the refuse place can’t make it until the next business day?

What if a salaried member of management allows you to enter and makes sure it’s turned off and okay to enter? To remove the debris.

Put Gisele and her garbage ideas in. That sure seems to clear things up.

There is a simple way just put your forks together use one fork and one fork extension, just slowly push on the jam and it will push it in and clear the jam. Most of the time its a piece of wood or metal that is stuck in the wrong position.

It’s a gray area in my club, and I have had to go in and pull out the obstruction. My club manager and the assistants are shady, they look the other way.

Anyone else ever have to deal with that kinda of management team?

I even have the scissor lift clipped on my badge, and have not taken cbl or test on the floor.

Insubordination isn’t tolerated in my club and I have been with the company 20 years. Hard to find a job starting at what I’m making.

I’d feel better if anyone else feels the same

Years of experience with this issue. you will need an additional associate. 1. kill the power, shut off is next to the door. 2. with a forklift next to the side thats not next to the building you will point the lift towards the direction that the compactor is pointing. There is a lip ridge that runs from the bottom to the top. Place the right fork in this area. The other associate will be on the other side watching to make sure you do not pull the hydraulic line off the wall. You only need to move the compactor 2 ft. You will slowly push the compactor away from the wall while the other associate will tell you when compactor has opened enough. Then you can take a stick and work the jam down into the compactor from the outside. Then move the forklift to the front and slowly push the compactor back in place. Once you have done this you will see how safe and simple this is.10 years with Sams . Have done this a hundred times. Its safe and effective. Now go back inside and turn the power back on.

I use a long pipe or a wood 2X4 that come in trailers. I`ll just keep jabbing at the pile of trash trying to break it up. I will also stand on a ladder and try to break it up by jabbing it at the lowest part of pile. It may take me some time but it works most of the time.

Call the Hauler for a Pull or Maint if hydraulics are not working properly. Lock and tag it out to prevent someone from doing this. First off you could be killed or seriously injured, and btw despite the best of intentions you will be terminated.

I have not witnessed anyone going in but I heard the same thing. You can be fired. Safety hazard.

Don’t people get fired if they go inside the chute to free up the jam? I have seen people go inside in my club, managers included but in a different club in my district people who were caught were terminated. Has anyone witnessed people go in?

Take one for the team and do some dumpster diving and save the day. Bonus you will smell so bad they will send you home early.
