Lost 3 FG jobs... Cut 3rd shift to around 50 jobs.. While this was not officially a "layoff" it had the effect of sending 3 foremen back to their box. 3rd shift will now consist of 1 manager and 2 foremen. Who knows what's next....

I certainly hope the FG’s that are left prepare better than I did financially. We all knew this was coming no one thinks it will be them. All shifts will go by the way of 3rd shift eventually. I chose to go back to my toolbox and leave supervision completely. I am high enough in the food chain in my craft that I’m pretty safe unless there is a shop closure. I finally slept all night last night and made peace with the whole thing. Hate and discontent can consume your life. Don’t get me wrong I’ll never be the same employee I was but I’ve finally learned to accept what I can’t change. I say good luck to UP, I hope they reach the goals they are seeking but for a few decision makers at JENKS SHOP all I can say is KARMA is a b--ch. You know who you are and you know why I’m saying that.
This is the way of still cutting jobs and adding mechanics and electricians back into the shop floor since new hires don’t last longer than a a year before they quit or get cut.
All of 3rd shift load box and outbound jobs were abolished. Don't think anyone went home from it yet, but that's less jobs in NLR, so it's not a stretch to think they will lose some people to match the number of positions lost.
Was anyone sent home??
so Will 2nd and 3rd be overloaded?
