I was displaced on Dec 7th. Received the paperwork electronically on Dec 9th and signed it. Received the severance pay on Dec 27th.

Look out to Jan 24th. I signed mine at the same time as you. I called the 800 number from severance paperwork and was told exact day of payout.

Is there anyone out there that did sign a severance packet in Dec 2018? Have you heard when the severance will be paid? I saw on here a few that signed right after the 7th, got theirs on Dec 27. I was left to assume that if you signed on the 16 your severance would be today.?

Public persona ...... really ! They'll take that away at the same time they give out a $1,000 dollar

Layoff bonus so it doesn't look so bad. They only have to pay you up to 60 days .

Nonsense why would they bring in people in the afternoon to stock. You going to tie up 3 people to take a forklift out on the floor and spend 30 minutes getting one pallet down. For the dumb--s that loves taking selfies and posting on the wire she has to be smarter than that. We shall see if she is.

At the end of the day it’s not required for a company to offer severance packages. Only required to follow the warn act (60 days).

Severance will never go away until the business is ready to close, they have a public persona to keep up with. Third shift may not receive anything because they arent eliminating positions, just changing their primary responsibilities and typical hours which everyone signs off on when they get hired. Given that there will have to be a transition time, I suspect that they will be given the option to do late stocking or early stocking and if they choose neither, their employment will end with small severance at the end of the transition.

Maybe itshould go away if it is now being viewed as an incentive for bad associates to stay and get a little something instead of moving along.

Where did you "hear" this? If it's true you won't mind telling the rest of us.

I’ve heard that they aren’t going away but will be greatly reduced to the minimum allowed by law......60 days pay. I haven’t heard a time frame on this change. 54

I heard the same thing. That's why night crew changes are waiting til February. It's not the law to give you severance so all you people banking on it can kiss that one goodbye.
