Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

I guess we are paying for this bit of good news for GM

So, General Motors announces plant closures and layoffs, and then soon after it raises its profit guidance for 2018. How long do you think raised profits achieved through layoffs can last, though? I can't wait to see the numbers for the quarter after this one...

Expect more factories to shutdown in the next couple years.

Fuzzy accounting. They'll say anything to make a positive spin on the situation. Don't believe them, or at least, treat the news with some skepticism.

It's the general trend for all big corporations, they innovate, take risks, offer great products, lean work force.... then they stagnant, walling their TURF, the statues quote is in the work culture because no one wants to rock the SAFE boat..... Just look at IBM, GE, Sears......

GM was also going to build a Toyota fighter and called it Saturn. It failed. About a decade or so ago, GM was going to use Cadillac to fight and beat BMW. It failed. GM bought SAAB and ran it into the ground and now it no longer exists. This attempt will suffer the same fate. The Generally Motionless car company is done.
