Separations from the top to the bottom?

OK this would likely never happen and potentially have some logistic problems. However, I believe if they were to do the separations starting with the highest levels and worked down from there, it could be psychologically easier to handle especially for those lower in the order. It would enable (at least for some) the process of catharsis to start when they see with their own eyes that these reductions are occurring at all levels and it would lessen to some extent the amount of victimization that is an inevitable feeling for many when they are involuntarily separated from employment.

What if your manager or director took the buyout? Would it make the pain sting any less? Don't be naive. You may have apathy for others, but at the end of the day, you look after you. By that I mean, they look after "they".

GM is slashing 15,000 jobs. Good luck to all who need to look for job.

Yeah i know if I saw my manager or director getting walked out before I did it would take a whole lot of the sting away. They really should consider something like this. It’s a c-appy time for everyone - at least this would help morale just a little bit!
