Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Deposits

I’m a shift supervisor, recently transferred to a busy store after my first store lost hours the first of the year. I was lucky another store needed help. I have a concern though, we used to take the deposit to the bank everyday at my old store, but my new store will sometimes have a few deposits in the safe. Are we supposed to take them everyday? Not trying to get my manager in trouble, but not sure what the policy is.

Call the LP person and ask them to come to the store and take the money to the bank. Let them know that all the deposits are in the store. If they don't respond or tell you to do it yourself, call the ethics line and report it immediately.

Call me arrogant if it makes you feel better but it makes no sense when you say "I don't want to get my manager in trouble". Did the manager specifically tell you that that you don't have to? Did the manager tell you not to? You weren't promoted to just have keys and perform manager overides. You are supposed to be able to run the store when the manager isn't present. How do you handle yourself with customers who are upset? It is not a matter of me being arrogant but a matter of you taking a little initiative and use common sense to do what is right.

Okay buddy, I’m sure you like having your shifts challenge how you do things. I don’t think the person asking the question wanted to be a tattle tail. Not everybody is trying to be a manager. Maybe this person is right, we are a bunch or arrogant prinks

Why are you people even entertaining a question like this.

Look, if your a shift worth a dang

You handle this like this.

Talk to store manager . Tell manager you want to do things right. And from what u understand they should be done daily . Let manager know u will do your part , but want to make sure

The rest do as well. It's not about looking for something to get ur store manger in trouble cause all Lp will do is tell manager to make sure it's done correctly from this point forward . - trust me u start trying to be seen as a big dog by tattle telling u will go down for something before they do

To the arrogant jerk that thought it was pretty bad that a shift didn’t know to take it everyday. I thought I did, but apparently the manager I have now doesn’t know the policy. One problem with this company is too many of the salaried managers and field management think their sh-- doesn’t stink, and are masters of self preservation who don’t train properly but all to glad to throw other people under the bus.

I've been in armored car stores for almost all of my cvs time so I'm not sure

So how do I go to the bank when I am the only one working the entire day? Do I let the pharmacy handle checking everyone out while I go to the bank or do I do a night drop?

I think its pretty bad that a shift supervisor doesn't know that the deposit goes to the bank everyday. I would think that the answer is obvious considering you mentioned that your old store took it everyday.

Thanks for the information. Not sure how to handle it without going to the DL or AP. For now, I just have been dropping them off whenever I have a day shift. Only one other shift does, I don’t think the manager ever does.

Everyday. The only exception we make is snow storm conditions. We just mark it in the deposit log. I don’t think this policy is any different across the company.
