Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

New cashier evaluation

So head cashier came over with a email stating all cashier will be evaluated on epps, credit apps, surveys, and how fast our transactions took. This will be done every week with the lowest getting some kind of consequence. Like really we cant force people to take surveys or get the extras how is that our fault now. Anyone here this yet? Or is this just my store?

Yes. Jamar the ASM Jerk of 1192 pulled me in his office to give me riot act of what he expects from me and cashiers. Everything mentioned above is correct. That I will be evaluated and he also said disciplined if these "metrics aint been met yo!" Thats how our ghetto ASM talks to us and customers.

I have no problem being talked to like an adult human being, but when it comes from a guy who hides in the LP office constantly, and every day the store manager is off hes in there all day sleeping, I have problems with it.

He is also a huge racist giving fellow black cashiers privileges such as desired shifts and days off, when he doesnt give any benefits to white, asian, or non-black employees.

Its said he has an Uncle in corporate or something like that which makes sense. Corporate s---s and doesnt care about employees proven by all the actions and restructuring and its the only way the racist POS could ever get a job.

Its so sad, that he expects things from us and does nothing himself. We call him and he dont pick up ever! Hes a typical manager here in our store and from what I read, every store. God bless.

Lowes better update their system and get rid of the old technology if they are going to time anything. How many times does the system freeze up and customers get frustrated.

They’ve done this in the past at my store. Some of the head cashiers, department supervisor, and ops asm actually scripted the steps we were to follow. We were required to follow the script or be written up. Two cashiers quit in one day because of it. Lowes doesn’t get it. Customers want their time respected. Once they have made the purchasing decision they want to pay and leave. Not be harassed by credit card offers, EPP offers, and questions. We had a couple of customers threaten cashiers if they didn’t stop with the questions; we were required to ask about each prompt on the screen. Customer buys 3 tools, we had to ask three times even if the customer said no don’t ask again.

If you try to get epps and apps your speed will go down. Furthermore the next person in line will complain. Even Marvin isn’t that clueless.
