Land’s End Store Locator

The Lands End store locator says “Store currently in liquidation” for Sears stores that are (supposedly) open for business?

Do they know something we don’t?

Land's End is closing most of their shops in Sears. Only keeping 49 of 125 open. There is an article online about this. Connecticut paper but into is from Land's End executives.

Lands end leases space in some Sears stores. It operates a few of their own stores with internet sales and a large uniform business making up the bulk of their business today. LE may decide to ens a lease off they are not making money in a particular Sears store

LE may be liquidating their "store" in a Sears. No reason for a LE store locator to refer to any status of the Sears store itself. Don't read into it as if LE has some insider knowledge on the status of the Sears store.

I checked my zip. There is a Sears near me that is not liquidating; but didn't even show on the locator. That Sears might not sell Lands End merchandise. I don't believe it does.

Two places showed on the map; both over 2 hours drive time in one direction. It was necessary to click on the map icon to see if liquidating. One; in Columbus OH; showed as liquidating; but the other; also in OH; did not.

I then checked reviews on Consumer Affairs; the only site I trust. Reviewers cannot assign less than one star. LE shows only 1 1/2 stars. The moral here is... if you going to buy LE merchandise; do it in a physical store; or don't do it at all. They need to earn more stars before you should consider buying online.

Lands' End Is Opening Its Own Stores to Control Its Fate After Sears - http://fortune.com/2018/12/07/lands-end-sears-2/

"In 2005, Sears started rolling out Lands’ End boutiques within its stores, and four years later, Lands’ End’s store count hit a peak of 310, the bulk of which were the Sears’ shops. By the end of this fiscal year, the tally will be 49 shops at Sears and 16 stand alone locations. Not that long ago, the Sears’ shops were as much as 15% of company revenues. In 2018 that side of the business has largely vaporized. To make up for that, Griffith has said he would open somewhere between 40 and 60 more stand-alone Lands’ End stores in the next four years or so."

@fum Search on the LE store locator with any Boston area zip code with a 100 mile radius. About half of the stores will say “store currently liquidating” even though the area has no liquidating Sears or Kmart stores, except for Natick MA which is already gone

They are pulling out of certain Sears stores so just the le shop would be liquidating

I think they are pulling out of certain locations (all of them likely soon enough though).

The one at my store doesn't say that, so which stores are you talking about?
