The concept of smaller stores

Honestly, I find this talk about new technologies and retail companies becoming tech companies a little annoying. While I get that ultimately technology will reshape and change retail, I can also say that that time is not even near and that retailers will be still relying on classical brick and mortar stores for some time. What I find interesting in this article is that I’ve recognized the attempt of an introduction of a concept of smaller stores, coated in this talk about the introduction of new technology. Some competitors also shrank their stores, but at least they were upfront with their workers.

Yes, and Walmart is trying to accumulate all these on line ventures but it’s not working because there name is so tarnished that the clientele they are trying to reach, will not touch them .... they are hitting brick walls all over

Technology has already shaped retail and the future of retail, where have you been? Companies are not relying on brick and mortar stores like they did in the past. They need to get the competitive edge of e commerce and invest millions to get some of the market share so they can compete with Amazon to make profits. This is why there will be more and more clubs closing so the company can invest in the way people shop(on line) You May not want to believe this or adapt to change but the future has already begun!

It was all over the WIRE. It would be too costly to roll out this concept at this time. The reason they opened it was to be a lab to test technology and see what sticks and then roll it out to the rest of the chain. Now in the future it may be more affordable and then they'll turn all the clubs into strip malls.
