Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Stop With Rumors

Hey everyone, just a random employee here at the Phoenix office. Can we stop spreading rumors? Please only post here with concrete facts. We're getting (presumably) close to when things "start", and we just want to see everything that's happening. We don't need "Well, I heard this..." and "I heard that too!"... what we need is "I saw XYZ" or "I experienced ABC"...

Please and thank you.

The moderation for this site is a joke. Stop removing funny comments. People use humor to cope with the layoffs. It is to be expected in a forum of this nature.

Phoenix employee is obviously one of the layoffs that's needed.

@1gru - They've been transparent that they're laying a bunch off but they've been mum on the actual timeline for those of us in GMIT. I, and most of us I'm sure, would love to know if we're being laid off so we can transfer knowledge before we're gone.

"It would be really nice if management was transparent on this whole process."

To be far, MB and her team were very transparent with the layoffs at the time of the decision. They had a reason, emails, broadcasts, and a public excuse for everything under the sun when cuts were announced. Remember, they wanted to be transparent with everyone?

They bloated this company up since 2015 to a very obese company. Rather than diet and exercise in a healthy way, they did the unthinkable. They loped off an entire arm and a leg, and then claimed they lost weight. Everyone around them watched stunned in horror at what just occurred.

The OP is right, just because the the tag line says rumors are ok, we are asking to post facts so other can be informed.

But yes, just like GMs a$$ backwards processes, because someone published it, that means I can do it.

Don’t you realize that’s the mentality that makes GM such an average IT comapany?

Since you apparently didn't read the first sentence on the homepage:

TheLayoff.com is a simple discussion board for all of us who would like to learn more about the rumors or possibility of job cuts in our company.

And the giant tagline:

News, personal experiences, rumors and speculations about layoffs at your company
