The stress we go through while waiting to find out when and who will be laid off is worse than finally knowing where we stand. If it turns out not to be today but sometime in the future, be it next week or month, that just mean more unnecessary anxiety for all of us. Let us know and be done with it. We'll deal.

It's almost like a horrifying form of torture - entire lives are put on hold with the continual not knowing. It's truly awful! I worked at GM for 14 years and it is so inhuman how they handle this type of stuff. Weeks, months of not knowing! I do not miss that continual roller coaster AT ALL. Prayers to the thousand affected AGAIN!
The tension is killing production everywhere. If GM wants to save their 30% increased EBIT and cash flow stuff it would be in their interest to lay us off now.
Couldn't agree more. The anxiety of wondering if you'll have a job every morning is far worse than just being told you're being let go a few months back...
